Now that Google has gotten into the cell phone business with the launch of Nexus One, Apple Google battle seems to become worse. At the moment Google is the default search engine on iPhones. If rumors are to be believed, now this may not be the case.
Most probably Apple will team up with Microsoft and make Bing available on iPhone, instead of Google as the default search engine. If you continue to be doubtful what Bing is: Bing is a search engine from Microsoft. What sets Bing apart from other search engines like Yahoo, Google is its visual qualities. The background of the Bing home page changes on a regular basis and you will find info provided about the picture and things linked to it. However, the search results are not that good as compared to Google. Nevertheless, one should certainly check out Bing for its layouts (Personally, I use BIng just for its homepage).
Getting back to our subject, Bing may take the place of Google on iPhones. This will likely be a massive loss to Google and a big gain to Microsoft. A while ago Google and Apple were two biggies of two different sectors. but now Google has gotten into the Cell phone market and may be in future it might also give tough opposition to Apple. (Though at present you don't have Smartphone which is as popular as iPhone. Blackberry is there, but caters to a specific section as opposed to iPhone that is coveted by everyone.) The guys at iphonehelp say if change inthe search engine happens, Microsoft may become the largestsearch engine and will overtake Google.
Doubtful what they mean by ‘overtake’: Only for iPhone users or will it also have an effect on the usage pattern on Desktops and Netbooks. And if that happens, that will be news. After all decade of being used to Google, will moving on to Bing seem okay? I do know I just said I like Bing but not as much as Google.
