If you're keen on the outside like I do, I'm convinced you will love going camping at remote camp sites. Be it a weekend retreat, with only you and your partner, or a whole family with little ones and pets, the experience will last a life time. Late spring to early fall will be the top time to take your camping holidays except of course you might be into winter camping. I am not, something regarding sleeping while in the snow just doesn't set well with me.
Now there are numerous ways to set up at the different camping sites. If there are roads that come to the camp site, I have acquaintances that bring their 5th wheel trailers and live resembling kings and queens. They even have satellite receivers so they do not pass up the ball or hockey game. A few like me, go a little more primitive, I make use of a 16 ft. cargo trailer. I pack my ATV's inside the trailer, then when I get to the site I unload the ATV’s then set the trailer up for me and my guess to sleep indoors. I feel safer this way in bear country.
Also when I was younger I have slept in the back of my pick-up that features a cap on the truck. For those brave at heart there’s always tent sites or even just a canvas that can be stretch out above top you, and sleep in your sleeping bag underneath.
What Is Needed At A Remote Camping Site?
A few of the things you will definitely not locate at the wilderness site is running water, restrooms or showers. But that’s ok since where I regularly camp in Northern Ontario it is usually in one of many lake camp sites. Which provide you with all of the water you require to bathe in. Simply leap in. As far as a toilet goes there is a large woods around you. Although several people that use these sites every year have erected out houses and leave them there for the next years use.
In years gone by we would simply drink out of the lake, they where crystal clean. But at the moment most campers bring water with them to drink. Well not just water, they are going to bring along some other drinks for their journey north. But for all your other requirements for water, the lake water is just fine. And if you forget the drinking water just boil the water for awhile ahead of the time before you require it.
The good thing of using a cargo trailer for camping, is you can actually load up your goods inside it until you get to camp. Then just unload then set up in the camp site. You will have to ensure you have pots and pans with you. Both for cooking and washing up following the meal. A rope that can be utilized for a clothes line can be incredibly useful. One should always have a very good supply of toilet paper on hand, although in a pinch I've used leaves. Toilet paper is a lot nicer though.
For food i take a lot of canned food. Really the only thing is don't forget the can opener. Using an axe to open cans leaves a few metal burrs which could bite you. In addition bring lots of clothes. Be certain you will have clothing for all season's with you. I have been camping during May and it has been snowing, and the exact same time the following year it could be in the 90's. Therefore be prepared.
In the evening its always nice to have a campfire. Hence you should have an axe or chainsaw. As a rule you do not need to worry about firewood because the woods are filled with dead trees. Furthermore its nice if you happen to carry matches to make sure you do not need to rub two sticks together. It has never worked for me yet. At the campfire it will be pleasurable to roast some hotdogs or marshmallows over the campfire consequently bring plenty of supplies for that.
The additional things you may want to think about bringing could be a battery operated radio, cards, flashlight, a handful of cold pops for the card game. However once you go for a few times you will know what that you must bring with you to your next wilderness camping trip.
Author Resource:- Another important piece of equipment eveyone should take camping is a portable camp stove. If you are looking to save some money on a Coleman stove visit this small site I found http://www.colemanstove.info
