So you've just taken the leap and became a team member for Amway, or you're thinking about it. Maybe you've been a part of the business for a while and you haven't quite got to where you need to go.
I plan on giving an overview of Amway and their business opportunity. The good the bad and the ugly if there is an ugly. I come from a sales background and have quite a bit of experience in both MLM and the sales industry.
Amway Overview
Amway is a network marketing company with a specialization primarily in the health, beauty and home care markets. Part of their product/services offered are unmatched in MLM distribution due to sheer numbers involved and the stability of the company. They've been established since 1959 and have remained one of the most relevant network marketing companies through all cycles of the economy and a number of law suits, let it be known that I'm not involved in this company in any way possible. Their main target market is middle class middle income clientele.
Beauty products are the primary products sold through Amway because of the real and the constant use of these products.This is probably the best kind of residual income generator for your money's worth. Amway has a great reputation for selling high quality product. In recent years organizational options have been added to their product line, especially given the current economy.
The Business
The business opportunity that representatives enrol into is always going to be criticized because it's a multi level marketing company, which we know, that you can't get around. The company itself is completely legal and legitimate.
The idea is to acquire reps and customers. When you can't acquire a rep, the idea is to get them as a client, through dietary, cosmetics or any of their long list or products . Silver level is a good promotion to aim for. A place that's harder to get to is Diamond distributor. At the Diamond level you're making six figures and you pretty much do Amway full-time.
It can be difficult to produce a lot of Silvers or to even get there yourself, really because of the economy and the association of an MLM with the service field. The biggest wall representatives face getting into the mlm world is building the trust of clients they have as you're dealing with one of the most prominent things in someone's life, their money.
A rep with no MLM background or connections can have a hard time building contacts and clients without prior experience. Learning about the company while building a solid list of prospects outside of friends and family can be a daunting task. Lead generation is the last thing that's thought about but should really be first on any business owners list. When you're not making money in the beginning and you have to do all the training plus build your business at the same time, it can be quite stressful.
